*Feasibility Study/Site Review:
- This includes: a thorough site visit and walk in order to inventory and review the existing and/or natural conditions present on site; the development of a program to preserve existing plants or features wherever possible or desired; a review of local and state ordinances which could influence the design; and an understanding of physical, governmental, and other constraints.
*Project Goals: -A thorough review with the client to understand his or her goals, and to make recommendations on potential design approaches in order to best achieve the client’s needs and desires.
*Master Planning: -This includes: project design development; the presentation of design alternatives, including close discussion with owner, architect, and others concerned to achieve the best design solution; looking at short and long range goals, including phasing of work as needed; and an opinion of construction costs.
*Site Engineering: -Understanding the technical aspect of the project and working closely with additional consultants or technicians (engineers, arborist), as may be required of the project.
*Construction Documents: -Preparation of supporting documents: Grading and drainage plan – for evaluation of drainage needs, creation of garden levels and/or calculation of earthwork Planting plan – for layout of existing plants to remain, working with them and proposing additional plants based on client tastes, site needs, deer, water conservation, etc. Garden lighting plan – for layout of garden lights to achieve certain effects as well as providing safety lighting Irrigation plan – for layout of automatic watering system based on plant needs, slope, exposure, available water, etc. Water use calculations – as may be required, to evaluate site landscape water allowance and anticipated plant water needs Construction details – for more detailed plans to construct arbors, walls, fences, outdoor kitchens, swimming pools, etc., these may require the services of additional engineering consultants
*Construction Administration/Project Management: -Assistance in obtaining bids for construction, review of construction submittals and construction observation at the client’s request.
*Additional Services: -Landscape Water Audit – for more detailed existing and anticipated landscape water use calculations based on local evapotranspiration, site exposure, irrigation methods and plant water needs.
